Men on traditional Asian diets are more likely to maintain normal prostate health compared to men in typical "Western" cultures. These differences appear to be associated with differences in consumption of isoflavones in the diet.5,6,7
Isoflavones are found mainly in legumes, such as red clover, lentils, chick peas and beans. However, not all legumes contain four important isoflavones, so a wide range needs to be consumed on a regular basis. For people accustomed to a Western diet, it may be difficult to achieve a daily intake similar to that of a traditional legume-based Asian diet.
An alternative approach is to complement a healthy diet and lifestyle with a standardised dietary supplement made from red clover, a rich source of isoflavones, containing four important isoflavones.
